The Kennebec George has non-stop class 3 & 4
whitewater, starting with rapids called "Taster" and
flowing on to such names as "Big Mamma" and
"Whitewasher". The pristine gorge is also home to
"Magic", a class 4 rapid. The lower half of the
Kennebec calms down to allow you to try swimming or maybe engage
in a water fight or two. The minimum age is 10 years old (with a
few exceptions).
Junior Rafters
Children under 10 years of age may join the trip for the
lower half. Please ask for arrangements.
Turbine check on the Kennebec
FOUR! Yes you read that right... there will be "4" high water
releases on the Kennebec... that's 8000 cfs on June 14, July
7, Sept. 6 and Sept. 20 of 2008. These releases will bring your adventure to a
boil! These trips will fill up fast, so call us today to reserve
your ride to adventure.
Custom Trips Available
Here at RIVERDRIVERS, we strive to provide a trip for
everyone's ability. Rafting can be great fun for people of all
abilities. We have guides experienced at taking challenged
guests rafting. We try to make our adventures accessible for
anyone. Our guides are proficient at running the Kennebec, The
Dead, and the Penobscot rivers.
A lower Kennebec trip can be arranged as well. A
small taste of the upper gorge to a relaxing float with a
peaceful environment. The trip is the Huck Finn trip of the
north.
Tired of having to be somewhere at a particular
time and not up to the rigors of a full day of rafting? Then
this trip is for you!
We also offer afternoon float trips from our
base to the crossing of the Appalachian Trail. This leisure trip
offers a chance to relax! An opportunity to swim at a remote
swimming hole will be the biggest decision you'll have to make.
